The Headgear Maker in Prontera makes hats that no quest, shop or box gives and no monster drops easily: 275 hats in four tiers, every one with stats or a card slot, and every one gives what its description says. 9 hats per offer, two offers a week.
1. Who can make them
- Every character, with no level or job requirement; the cost is the same for every job.
- The limit is 5 hats a week per site account, all its game accounts and characters together.
2. Where and the offers
- Where: Prontera (164, 175).
- Two offers a week: Thursday 12 AM to the end of Sunday, and Monday 12 AM to the end of Wednesday, KSA time (GMT+3). The new offer is announced in game.
- 9 hats in each offer: 3 common (one upper, one middle, one lower), 3 uncommon, 2 rare and 1 legendary.
- The next offer: shown ahead at the maker and on the site, so you can gather its materials before it starts; its hats can't be made before then.
- Every hat and its materials: the site's Headgear Maker page.
3. Making a hat
- Pick the hat from the current offer at the maker.
- The hat's page shows its tier, each material with what's needed and what you have (green is met, red is missing), the zeny, the Coins and the weekly limit.
- Preview puts it on your character for a moment; your look comes back when the dialog closes.
- Make only shows once everything is there; the materials and fee are taken and the hat is yours.
4. Tiers and costs
- Common (70 hats): 2 kinds of material, about 300 to 500 monsters (2 to 3 hours), fee 100,000 zeny and 10 Oasis Coins.
- Uncommon (55): 3 kinds, about 700 to 1,100 monsters (4 to 6 hours), fee 250,000 zeny and 30 Coins.
- Rare (118): 3 kinds, about 1,400 to 2,200 monsters (7 to 12 hours), fee 750,000 zeny and 80 Coins.
- Legendary (32): 3 kinds plus an uncommon hat from the same offer, about 2,000 to 2,800 monsters (11 to 15 hours) plus that hat, fee 4,000,000 zeny and 150 Coins.
The tier follows the hat's value: the stronger it is, or with a card slot, the harder. A hat an MVP also drops needs 15% fewer materials. Coins come from your Oasis Coin wallet.
Example:
Koneko Hat is rare: 630 of each of its three materials, plus 750,000 zeny and 80 Coins.
5. Materials
- Every material comes from ordinary monsters of level 40 to 90 on maps players reach; nothing from a boss or MVP, and each material of a recipe from a different monster.
- Bag and Kafra storage together: the maker counts your bag and your game account's Kafra storage, and takes from the bag first, then storage, so you can gather over several days. Close the storage window at the maker so its contents count.
- A hat always asks the same recipe.
Gym Pass: each one raises your weight limit by 200 at the Kafra, up to 10 times; at the Oasis Merchant (135 Coins) or the Gem shop (30 Gems).
6. Tracking materials
Track materials on a hat's page adds its materials to your quest window, with how many of each you've collected. Each character tracks one hat. Tracking continues after the offer ends, and stops when you make the hat or choose Stop tracking materials.
7. Legendary hats
Each legendary hat also asks for a specific uncommon hat from the maker, named in its recipe, and that uncommon hat is always in the same offer. Making it first counts toward your weekly limit.
Worked example:
Twin Pom Santa Hat [1] asks for
Robo Eyes and 710 of each of its three materials. Both makes together: 4,000,000 + 250,000 = 4,250,000 zeny, 150 + 30 = 180 Coins, and 2 of your 5 weekly hats.
8. Getting the hat and trading
- The hat goes to your bag, or to your mail if it doesn't fit.
- A rare or legendary hat made is announced to everyone in game.
- Every hat from the maker is permanent and unbound: it can be traded between players, except
Chewing Gum, which can't be traded or stored, so make it on the character who will wear it.
9. Questions
When does the weekly limit reset?
Thursday at 12 AM KSA time.
Is the limit per character?
No, 5 hats per site account, all its accounts and characters together.
My materials are in storage but don't count?
Close the storage window before talking to the maker; it counts the storage of the game account you're on.
Where are quest hats like
Bunny Band and
Helmet of Orc Hero?
With their quest NPCs, as in the original game; the maker is for hats you can't get any other way.
See you in Oasis!
